Six flushes from one tub

One monotub, a coco coir and vermiculite substrate, colonised in twelve days and fruiting from day sixteen. I weighed every flush wet and dry and kept the humidity meter reading next to each number. Six flushes in total before I called it, which is two more than I expected and three more than I have managed before.

The first three flushes were the ones you would post photos of. Wet weights of 410, 380 and 350 grams. Big, even fruits with very little aborting. Between each one I let the surface dry back until it was just tacky, then misted and fanned twice a day for three days, and the pins came in on schedule.

Flush four dropped to 190 grams and the fruits were smaller and thinner. Five was 120. Six was 60 grams of mostly small caps and I stopped there rather than fight for a seventh. The substrate had visibly shrunk from the sides of the tub by then and was starting to look tired.

The thing that kept it going longer than my previous tubs was humidity discipline in the dry-back. I used to keep the surface wet all the time and get contamination by flush four. Letting it properly dry between flushes, and dunking the whole cake overnight before five and six, is what bought the extra rounds. Not more yield per flush, just more flushes.
